in case you are wondering what I am up to today- my car is in the shop because it needs a new belt or something? I know simply nothing about cars but thats what my brother in-law said the noise it was making is from so here we are! so naturally I am at bluestem drinking a honeycomb latte. I got to see some camp friends and staff and talk to emma peck so I am not complaining at all! I am currently reading Deeper by Dane Ortlund and one of the quotes I have been sitting in the past week is this.
“in your smallness he notices you, in your sinfulness he draws near to you and in your anguish is in solidarity with you”.
I often feel let my sinfulness led me to shame rather than repentance but it is when I am at my lowliest where Christ meets me the most. He draws near to me in all that I feel and experience. Oh how lucky are we to have such a God who rather than runs away from the parts of us that we do-only draws nearer and closer!
